The town, which is well-known for its picturesque photo locations that provide a nearly flawless view of Japan’s famous Mount Fuji, started building a big black screen on a sidewalk on Tuesday in an attempt to obscure the mountain’s view. The cause: unruly international visitors. The proprietor of a café, Michie Motomochi, said, “Kawaguchiko is a town built on tourism, but there are many things about tourists’ manners that are worrying.” AP

Five people killed, “Harry Potter castle” destroyed in assault

Odesa, in the Ukrainian capital: At least five people were killed and over thirty injured during a Russian missile attack on the Black Sea port city of Odesa, according to CNN. Video footage of the terrifying moment when bomblets burst in rapid succession along the beachfront, wreaking havoc, was made public by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. One of the buildings that was destroyed was a school, which people called the “Harry Potter castle” because of how much it resembled the well-known Scottish building design.
