Older couple dies in Ariyalur after being hounded by son for drink money on a daily basis

On Friday night, an old couple in this area committed themselves, apparently due to constant harassment from their son who would not stop requesting money to purchase alcohol.

Two boys are born to the late R Ramasamy (70) and his 60-year-old wife Valarmathi. The younger son, Ilamathi, is alienated from his wife Karthika and their two boys, while the oldest son, Ilayaraja, passed away in a car accident three years ago. Ilamathi pestered his parents a much. This happened again on Friday night when he drunkenly barged into his parents’ house and demanded money. The harsh action was reportedly taken by the irate pair. Upon visiting, neighbors discovered Valaramathi had passed away. After being taken to Ariyalur GH while struggling for his life, Ramasamy died away.
