Omar Abdullah Calls Out The BJP For “Spreading Lies” About Development and Slams Them Over The J&K Power Crisis

Kashmir and Jammu – Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and vice president of the National Conference, Omar Abdullah, pointed the finger at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for’spreading falsehoods’ about the progress of the area at a rally in the Kulgam district in south Kashmir. Abdullah emphasized the dire situation with the Union Territory’s electrical supply, claiming that the populace has been denied access to basic necessities like electricity.

“We’re dealing with the biggest electrical crisis right now. In J&K, things were far better while we were in power. All the BJP believes in is disseminating falsehoods. At the gathering, Omar questioned, “If they claim that crores of dollars are spent on development, then why don’t they spend money on buying electricity for the UT during the crisis?”

“They (the BJP) deceived us by claiming to be offering jobs. He continued, saying it was regrettable that people were experiencing power outages lasting more than ten to twelve hours. “We have also been fooled by the BJP in the name of development,” he remarked.

electricity plants controlled by Jammu & Kashmir are encountering major hurdles as the region’s electricity situation reaches a critical stage. Out of the 1197 MW of installed capacity, power output has decreased by more than 80%, to only 200 MW. People now often experience unexpected power outages, which makes enduring the cold months much more difficult.
