PM Modi: Two Senior Congress Leaders Struggling to Establish Their Sons and Take Party in MP

In an attack on the opposition Congress on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that two of its top brass were engaged in battling in Madhya Pradesh in order to establish their sons and seize control of the party’s organization in the state. There has been rumors of a division in the MP Congress over candidate selection, sparked by a recent viral video showing MP Congress president Kamal Nath telling Congress members to “tear clothes” of his colleague Digvijaya Singh for refusing a ticket to a Shivpuri man.

Before the state elections on November 17, both of the previous CMs have attempted to downplay the incident and present a unified front. Speaking at a public gathering in the MP district of Seoni before of the state elections, Prime Minister Modi said that the Congress has done nothing for the benefit of the tribal population during its 56 years in power after independence.

Additionally, PM Modi said that the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna, which feeds 80 crore underprivileged people for free, would be extended for an additional five years. The one thing that troubled me during the acute Covid-19 crisis was how the underprivileged would feed their kids when everything was closed. He said, “I decided to fight to save the people of the country under any condition because they couldn’t leave their homes for work.”

“This resolve led me to decide to give 80 crore people free rations so that their kids could eat through the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna,” he said. Because he hails from a low-income family and is aware of the struggles these individuals endure, Prime Minister Modi said that his administration has chosen to continue the free ration program for an additional five years.

He said that “scams worth lakhs and crores occurred during the Congress regime, but no such thing occurs during the BJP government, and the money thus saved is being spent on providing free ration to the poor people.” The Prime Minister attacked the Congress, claiming that in all the 56 years the party had been in power, it had done nothing to improve the lot of the tribal people.

When the BJP took office under the direction of the then-prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a special ministry for the welfare of tribal people was established for the first time in the nation, according to PM Modi. Modi went after the Congress again, claiming that two of its prominent figures are engaged in conflict in Madhya Pradesh in an effort to establish their sons and take control of the party’s organization there.

“The two major leaders of the Congress are at odds with one another, but the Congress is not contesting polls in the state,” he said. In reference to the widespread availability of mobile phones in the nation, Prime Minister Modi said that his government’s initiatives have made mobile phones and data services more affordable, resulting in significant cost savings for the populace. Had the Congress been in control, the monthly prices of Rs 300–400 for mobile phone and data might have been as high as Rs 4,000–5,000, he said.

Additionally, PM Modi claimed that the government-established Janaushadhi Kendras saved the impoverished citizens of the nation close to Rs 25,000 crore by providing an 80% discount on medications. He said that farmers in India are receiving urea for Rs 300 a bag, which is ten times less expensive than what US growers pay.
