Police march with flags at Fatehgarh Sahib

Prior to the general election, the district police, under the command of SSP Ravjot Grewal, conducted flag marches through each of the district’s towns to increase citizens’ feeling of security.

Speaking to the media, the SSP said that the flag march will pass by important locations and polling places in the district in order to provide voters a feeling of security and guarantee a peaceful general election process. She said that the march will demonstrate the might of the police force to the anti-social groups. She said that comprehensive security plans were in place for the elections and that the police would always prioritize keeping the public safe.

Sultan Singh, Assistant Commandant of the ITBP, said that a whole company of the force, consisting of around ninety officers and jawaans, has been stationed in the area for the month. He said that this was done to protect the citizens’ safety and security.
