Political events in Maharashtra: Sharad Pawar seems unfazed, according to Raut; he asserts that this ‘circus’ won’t continue long

Sanjay Raut, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), said on Saturday that Sharad Pawar, the head of the Nationalist Congress Party, is unfazed by the division in his party and is free to reorganise.

Ajit Pawar and some of his colleagues were sworn in as deputy chief ministers in the Eknath Shinde cabinet on a day marked by significant political changes.

Raut said, “I just spoke with NCP Sharad Pawar,” in a tweet. He asserted that he is solid and that the public is behind us. Uddhav Thackeray offers us a chance to start again.

In an apparent allusion to the establishment of governments via vertical splintering of political parties, Raut said that the people of Maharashtra would not put up with such a “circus” for very long.

“Some individuals appear intent on destroying Maharashtra’s political system totally. Raut seemed to be referring to Ajit Pawar, Chief Minister Shinde, and the Bharatiya Janata Party when he remarked, “Let them continue on their chosen path.”
