Political Leaders React To Five States’ Election Schedule; Parties Prepare For Tense Conflicts

The eagerly awaited dates for the assembly elections in five states—Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram—have been released by the Election Commission. Voting will occur on several days between November 7 and November 30, and the results will be tallied on December 3. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are being referred to as the “semi-finals” throughout this election cycle.

The Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar stressed the dedication of the approximately 16 crore eligible voters to ensure a fair and incentive-free political process.

On November 7, voting for all 40 assembly seats will begin in Mizoram, simultaneously with the first round of voting for 20 seats in Chhattisgarh. Along with all 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, the remaining 70 seats in Chhattisgarh will vote on November 17. All 200 assembly seats will be up for election in Rajasthan on November 23, and Telangana will be the last state to hold elections, on November 30.

Political figures from different parties responded to the announcement of the dates by expressing their feelings: “I urge everyone in the state to fulfill their responsibility in this festival of democracy and remove the corrupt and ineffective government and bring BJP to power,” says former Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal declares, “We (Aam Aadmi Party) are ready and will be contesting in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.”

“In Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, which is scheduled for November 17, we will win with a clear majority based on the developmental and welfare works done under the leadership of our PM and our CM,” V.D. Sharma, the head of the MP BJP, said

“I appeal to the public to come out in large numbers to vote in the upcoming Assembly elections as the elected government decides the future of the state and its people,” said MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

“We’ve already made three candidates in Rajasthan public, and we’ll shortly make our candidates in Telangana public as well. For these elections, our party is completely ready. According to AIMIM chairman Asaduddin Owaisi, “I am convinced that people would support us for our efforts, accessibility, and availability, especially in Telangana.

Congress leader Sachin Pilot asserts that “Congress is quite strong in all the poll-bound states and we will form the government in all of these states.”

“This celebration of democracy is underway, and the BJP is ready for this election. I am convinced that the BJP will win with a great majority because of the manner progress has been brought about over the previous 18 years compared to the corrupt government’s 15-month rule,” said BJP spokeswoman Neha Bagga.

“Both the BJP and the electorate are ready for the elections. Chhattisgarh has been the epicenter of crime, corruption, drug addiction, and mafia activity during the last 4.5 years under Bhupesh Baghel’s administration, which has also impeded the state’s progress. Because of this, the populace is prepared to overthrow the Congress administration, according to BJP Chhattisgarh president Arun Sao

“We are optimistic about winning. We definitely believe that we have succeeded in a number of ways. There will always be certain things that cannot be accomplished, but I did not anticipate that we would be able to do this much, says T S Singh Deo, the deputy chief minister of Chhattisgarh.

“Since the dates for the Assembly elections in the five states have been made public, the PM Modi countdown has officially started. According to Congress Jharkhand chairman Rajesh Thakur, we are certain that we will prevail in all five states and that we are ready.

“BJP’s misgovernance in Madhya Pradesh has angered the populace. In the polls, Congress will score a stunning triumph. Congressman Digvijaya Singh declares, “Kamal Nath will lead us as we run for office.”

“Everyone should have faith in the Election Commission because when the opposition wins, the EC functions normally, but when they lose, they raise issues with the EVM. Nobody should be concerned about the performance of the BJP wherever the election is scheduled. In every state, we shall beat them (the opposition),” asserts Union Minister Giriraj Singh.
