“Political plot against the chief minister”: Atishi criticizes the BJP over the detention
On Friday, Cabinet Minister Atishi voiced her worries over Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s safety while he is being held in ED under Z+ security.
She said, “The Central Government needs to disclose the measures taken to guarantee his safety.”
According to Atishi, “the BJP is plotting Kejriwal’s arrest against its most powerful political rival in the nation.” She claimed that the ED, which has turned into the BJP’s political tool, has detained a sitting chief minister for the first time in Indian democratic history.
“Moreover, it’s the first time in the history of the nation that a national party’s national convener has been detained following the announcement of the LS elections while the Model Code of Conduct is in effect,” Atishi said.
“The BJP and PM Modi are scared of him, as evidenced by the ED’s decision to arrest the chief minister in a case where the CBI and ED have not been able to recover any money or trace any proceeds of crime despite two years of investigation,” the spokesperson said.
“PM Modi knows very well that Kejriwal is the only leader who can take him on,” the woman said. She said, “For this reason, the AAP and the BJP are using every trick in the book to silence Kejriwal and the AAP. Today, the Central Government headed by the BJP has imprisoned all five of the AAP’s key leaders on baseless accusations.
She emphasized that after the arrest of former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren, the Congress’ financial accounts were taken. She went on, “This is an attempt to rig the next Lok Sabha elections and destroy the opposition.”
The top AAP leader voiced worries about the Opposition’s capacity to run for office in the event that party financial accounts are frozen and leaders are taken into custody. “Whatever you are doing today, you will face a fitting response from Delhi, Punjab, and the people of this country,” the speaker cautioned the BJP.
