Poll contesting by Cong is being prevented: Dotasra

Jaipur: At a joint news conference, state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Tikaram Jully, and others lambasted the BJP, alleging that the saffron party was to blame for the freezing of Congress’s bank accounts.
“Intimidation is being used to prevent the opposition parties from forming an alliance with any party.

Owing to a single, insignificant error made by Congress in 2017–18, the party’s financial accounts have all been blocked. How far does the nation consider this to be correct? Do we not have the right to run for office using our own funds? Dotasra said, “If elections like this were held, the BJP could win all 543 seats as opposed to its claimed 400.”
Dotasra said that there was an unreported emergency in the nation and that state agencies were being used to frighten and compel leaders into joining Congress.
The Congress leaders said that the BJP will stop at nothing to win the Lok Sabha elections and denounced the detention of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Dotasra threatened to withhold a cup of tea and even an invitation to the BJP’s party meetings from anyone who defected from the Congress and joined the party.
Dotasra questioned what CM Bhajan Lal Sharma had done in the last three months to justify such a bold assertion about the BJP’s predicted sweep of all 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan. He said that the Gehlot government’s social programmes were being methodically dismantled.
Gehlot said that the national party’s money accounts had never been blocked ahead of a general election in the nation. According to him, the problem was that only Rs 14.40 lakh of the Rs 199 crore in cash deposits—which were first lowered to Rs 2,000—were implicated.
A fine may have been applied if there had been a little infraction, but the IT department took Rs 115 crore out of the party’s account instead. Is this nation heading towards Russia or North Korea? Everyone is aware of the recent events in Pakistan. Gehlot questioned, “Is the state of affairs in our nation not moving in that direction? He went on, “The country will not forgive the media if they do not fulfil their responsibility to portray the national truth.” Gehlot said that the problem of the confiscation of the Congress’s bank accounts had spread to every town and hamlet in the nation and that the BJP government’s actions would ultimately bring about its collapse.
Jully said that the BJP had no internal democracy and was governing the nation like a dictatorship.
