Robbery at the Toll Plaza Collection of Rs 23.5 Lakh in Phillaur, Punjab

On Monday, two Ladhowal toll plaza personnel were robbed of Rs 23.5 lakh in cash while they were on their way to deposit the collection at a bank in the Jalandhar region of Punjab, according to police.

They said that the incident happened at approximately 11 am near the Phillaur bus stop when five unidentifiable bandits made off with the toll collection.

According to the police, two toll plaza personnel planned to deposit Rs 23.5 lakh, the toll plaza’s cash collection for Saturday and Sunday, at a bank in neighboring Phillaur.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (Phillaur) Jagdish Raj, five thieves stopped a toll plaza employee’s car at the Phillaur bus stop and made off with the cash.

According to authorities, the area has been blocked off to catch the burglars.
