Saddened By Deaths Caused By Landslides And Heavy Rain In Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, And Other States: Rahul

Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, expressed his sadness over the deaths caused by landslides and heavy rain in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and other northern Indian states on Monday and encouraged all party members to assist with relief efforts.

Gandhi said on Twitter, “I send my sincere condolences to all the relatives of the deceased, and I pray for the quick recovery of all those hurt.

“All employees of the Congress are urged to assist the government with relief efforts. The former party leader stated, “We all have to work together to overcome the challenging obstacles presented by this natural tragedy.

Six people died on Sunday in Uttarakhand due to the nonstop rain and landslides. As a result of rising water levels in all the main rivers, including the Ganga, and a prediction for further heavy rainfall over the next two days, authorities in the hill state have issued a “red” warning.

Twenty people who were trapped in Manali, a popular tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh, were rescued, but nearly 300 other people remained stranded throughout the hill state on Monday as torrential rain caused havoc for a third day.

The meteorological service has issued a “red” signal for “extremely heavy rain” as the state braces itself for another day of rainfall.
