‘Shobha yatra’ in Nuh: surveillance drones and increased security

Due to the Sarv Jatiya Hindu Mahapanchayat’s request for a “shobha yatra” on Monday, there are extensive security precautions in place here and in the nearby regions, with anti-riot vehicles and drones being deployed, authorities said.

The yatra has been refused permission by the authorities.

The administration of the Nuh district has already placed prohibitory measures in the racially sensitive area, halted mobile Internet connectivity, and ordered banks and educational institutions to close on Monday.

Security guards have been stationed at each of the district’s access points to prevent outsiders from entering Nuh.

Paramilitary and Haryana Police officers have been sent out to maintain a rigorous observation.

At the boundaries between states and districts, they said, security has been reinforced.
Police have built many levels of roadblocks at numerous locations, and security agents have carefully inspected each vehicle entering Nuh. Drones and anti-riot vehicles have also been used.

After a crowd stormed a Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) parade on July 31, which resulted in the deaths of six individuals, including two house guards and a priest, communal riots broke out in Nuh and its surrounding districts.

The Brij Mandal Shobha Yatra in Nuh, which was interrupted by the communal fighting in July, will continue on August 28 after being called to order on August 13 by the Sarv Jatiya Hindu Mahapanchayat.

The VHP has said that the procession would be dispersed and that no permit is required for such religious gatherings. The yatra was not granted clearance by the authorities, nevertheless.

Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, advised followers to do prayers at local temples on Sunday rather than go on any “yatras.” He had also said that the ‘yatra’ had not been given permission.

The last Monday of the sacred month of Shravan is August 28.

24 companies of paramilitary troops and 1,900 members of the Haryana Police have been deployed, according to the police.

The road leading to the Nalhar temple has also been blocked, and all entrances to Nuh have been shut.

Following the summons for the “shobha yatra,” Deputy Commissioner of Nuh Dhirendra Khadgata has assigned 57 duty judges to certain locations.

Additionally, he urged the neighborhood residents to assist the district administration in upholding law and order.

Shatrujeet Kapur, the head of the Haryana Police, said on Saturday that the government had refused permission for the yatra because of a G20 Sherpa Group conference that was planned to take place in Nuh from September 3 to 7 and to preserve peace and order after the violence of July 31.
