Six members of a Bihar family perished in a traffic accident near Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh

In the wee hours of Sunday, a speeding truck struck the vehicle of a Bihar family, killing six of them, according to authorities.

According to Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma, the automobile was traveling to Prayagraj at the time of the 2.30 a.m. collision on the Karjag-Kerakat route in the vicinity of the Gaura Badshahpur police station.

According to authorities, three further family members are receiving treatment in Varanasi.

The dead have been identified as citizens of the Sitamarhi region of Bihar, including Gajdhar Sharma (60) and his son Anish Sharma (35); Jawahar Sharma (57) and his 17-year-old son; Sonam (34) and Rinku (32).

According to the SP, police have opened an inquiry.
