SP was unable to choose a Yadav for the race who wasn’t related: In Budaun, Shah

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, attacked Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, on Thursday, charging him with engaging in dynasty politics. He noted that despite Akhilesh’s claims to be a leader of the Yadav community, he was unable to locate any Yadav candidates other than members of his own family.

Speaking at a rally in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh, where Aditya Yadav, Akhilesh’s cousin and Shivpal Yadav’s son, is running for office on the Samajwadi Party ticket, Shah remarked that the Yadav family as a whole was running for office in the state. He said, “Akhilesh and his family’s presence means that the Yadavs of Budaun will never have the opportunity to run for office.”

Dimple Yadav, Akhilesh’s wife, is the party’s candidate from Mainpuri, while he is running from Kannauj. In addition to Aditya Yadav from Budaun, his other distant relative, Akshay Yadav from Firozabad, is also in the fray. In an effort to please their “vote bank,” Shah said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi constructed the Ram Temple and repaired the Kashi Vishwanath temple corridor, political parties such as the Congress and SP declined the invitation to the consecration ceremony.

Shah disparaged Rahul at Bareilly, implying that his party would lose so badly in the poll that he would need to organize a “Congress dhoondho yatra” after June 4.
