Startling: Delhi lady perishes as her saree gets caught in a Metro door and is dragged across the platform

According to a transporter representative, a 35-year-old lady who had fallen under a metro train at Inderlok Station passed away on Saturday at Safdarjung Hospital from her injuries.

Reena, the lady, was submerged under a metro train on Thursday after a piece of her garment got caught in the closing subway doors. It was unable to tell whether the lady had boarded or exited the train.

Chief Public Relations Officer Anuj Dayal of Delhi Metro said, “An incident occurred at Inderlok Metro station on Thursday where prima facie it appears that a woman passenger’s clothes got entangled in a train leading to injuries and subsequent demise in hospital on Saturday.”

The woman’s relative, Vicky, said that she was traveling from Nangloi in west Delhi to Mohan Nagar when the tragedy occurred.

“Her saree got trapped when she arrived at the Inderlok Metro Station and was changing trains. She was badly hurt when she fell. She was in serious condition when she was brought to Safdarjung Hospital. She passed away on Saturday night,” he stated.

Around seven years ago, Reena’s spouse passed away. Vicky said that she leaves behind a daughter and a son.
