The BJP charges Nitish of having an anti-Hindu bias in his festival holiday policies
Through a policy on festival vacations, the BJP accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of anti-Hindu prejudice. The party said that the Bihar government increased the number of vacations for Muslim holidays while reducing the number for Hindu holidays in state schools.
The state’s Education Department released the 2024 vacation calendar the day after the BJP accused Nitish Kumar of being the victim of appeasement politics.
Union Minister of State for Climate Change, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, said on X that “Bihar will not tolerate those who have ruined it.” The administration of Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister and pro-Muslim Nitish party, has removed many Hindu festivals from school calendars. There will be no tolerance for this premeditated assault on Sanatan.
The Buxar parliamentary seat in Bihar is home to Choubey, an MP, who went on to remark, “Nitish babu, the people of Bihar understand your appeasement game very well.”
Similar thoughts were expressed by BJP MP and former Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who posted on X that “holiday cancellation is a sign of anti-Hindu mentality.”
The MP attacked the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Janata Dal (United) governments in Bihar, claiming, “The Nitish-led government has shown an anti-Hindu face.” For Muslim festivities, the holidays have been extended, while those for Hindu festivals have been progressively reduced.
Giriraj Singh, the Union Minister for Rural Development, also criticized the JDU-RJD Government’s festive holiday policies on the microblogging platform. Singh, the parliamentary representative for Begusarai, referred to the state as the “Islamic Republic of Bihar” with a euphemism. He made the observation, “Nitish and Lalu (Yadav of RJD) government ended holidays for Hindu festivals and extended holidays for Muslim festivals in schools.”
He went on, “They will be known as Muhammad Nitish and Muhammad Lalu in the future for the way they are attacking Hindus.”
