The construction of Fatehabad Jail would cost Rs 100 crore

Today, in the Fatehabad district, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar laid the cornerstone of a prison that would be constructed at a cost of Rs 100 crore. The major guest during the occasion in Fatehabad was Energy and Jails Minister Ranjit Singh, while the chief minister took part in it via video conference.

Speaking later at a news conference in Hisar, he said that the government had begun building new prisons in a few cities and that there was a plan to move the jails in Ambala and Hisar from the towns’ interiors to their outskirts. According to him, the government is searching for suitable site for them.

The DGP (Jails), Muhammad Akil, and BJP MLAs Dura Ram and Lakshman Napa were among those present at the stone-laying event in Fatehabad.

At the event held at the BDPO block premises in Tohana, Fatehabad district, Development and Panchayat Minister Devender Singh Babli was the special guest.

According to Babli, projects totaling around Rs 45 crore in Tohana and Rs 170 crore in the Fatehabad district have been started or launched. In accordance with the Amrit Sarovar program, the minister opened a 33-KV substation at Damkora and Ratta Khera, valued at Rs 11 crore, along with around 16 ponds. He laid the cornerstone for the Rs 27 crore, three-story Panchayat Bhawan.
