The Indian government promised Sikhs’ protection everywhere: Sikh leader Jassee Singh, an American

NEW DELHI: According to a well-known Sikh leader in America, the Indian government has given assurances on its commitment to guarantee the security and safety of the Sikh community globally.
Leading a team and conducting talks with important Indian authorities, Jassee Singh, a representative of Sikhs of America, met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

According to Singh, he expressed interest in learning more about the ways the Sikh diaspora can actively support and advance India’s development.
“We got a very kind and encouraging reaction. The Indian government is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of the Sikh community, wherever they may be around the globe, according to External Affairs Minister Jaishankar.
“We discussed Punjab’s growth, particularly its economic development, throughout our discussions. During its militant movement, Punjab has suffered much,” he said.
Singh rejected the charges put up by certain Sikh groups in the US and Canada, claiming that they are not being mistreated in India.
“That is undoubtedly untrue. Sikhs undoubtedly have their own problems, just like members of other groups. He purportedly said, “Sikhs are enjoying the same rights as any other citizens of India.”
Singh conveyed the desire of the Sikh American community to help Punjab prosper, emphasising Amritsar in particular.
He said that 100 scholarships would be given to Amritsar’s youngsters and that the Sikhs of America would be in charge of keeping two Amritsar roadways clean.
In answer to a question, Singh expressed his cordial welcome to Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the former Indian ambassador to the US, on his choice to join the BJP.
“I give him my congratulations and best wishes. The BJP will benefit from the addition of a Sikh leader and an accomplished diplomat. The Indian-American who had thrown a lavish departure party for Sandhu here said, “It’s a huge win for the BJP.”
“Among India’s young, I saw a feeling of pride in their country, nationalism, and readiness to take action. They are now also receiving possibilities,” Singh said.
“There is all-round development, in particular in the infrastructure sector, including roads, railways, and airports, and excitement among Indians about the country,” he said.
“Overall, it was a wonderful experience to be in India,” Singh said.
