Since November 2022, the first service (trains 20607/20608) has been running.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened this new train on March 12. Due to Mysuru maintenance issues, the train originally traveled between SMVT Bengaluru and Chennai Central from March 14 to April 4. Wednesdays during this period didn’t run, according to Deccan Herald.

According to Kanamadi, the 20663/20664 train will begin service between Mysuru and Chennai Central on April 5 and would pass via KSR Bengaluru. Wednesday service on the train will not run from April 5 to July 29. Additionally, SWR reports that effective on July 30, Thursdays will be off due to mechanical issues.

At 5:50 AM, the inaugural Vande Bharat Express departs from Chennai Central and arrives in Mysuru at 12:20 PM. The return journey is made by Chennai’s Southern Railway, which departs Mysuru at 1:05 PM and reaches Chennai Central at 7:20 PM.

The new service from Mysuru leaves at 6 AM and arrives at Chennai Central at 12:25 PM, passing via Mandya, KSR Bengaluru, KR Puram, and Katpadi. On the return journey, it departs Chennai Central at 5:00 PM and reaches Mysuru at 11:20 PM.
