There is now a cyber cell at Jammu police headquarters

The district headquarters of Jammu Police now has a cyber department to handle the growing number of cybercrime cases.

DIG Range: Jammu-Kathua-Samba The cyber unit was officially opened by Sunil Gupta with SSP Jammu Vinod Kumar in attendance. The J&K police have taken the initiative to establish cyber units in each district in order to effectively address the rising issue of cybercrimes.

According to DIG Sunil Gupta, the best way to address the issue of cybercrime is to stop it before it starts. The police department can do this by collaborating with different social activists and using social media, print, and television media to raise awareness of the issue.

According to an official, “the cyber cell shall deal with online cybercrimes and complaints received through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCCRP).”. The cyber team will also provide investigative officer and lower-level staff training at Jammu police stations.
