To ensure a thriving democracy, youth’must vote’

SVEEP activities were held today at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Engineering and Technology, Gumma, in the Kotkhai district, in anticipation of the Lok Sabha elections on June 1. Abhishek Verma, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) for Shimla, was the main guest at the event.

“It is imperative that every voter take part in the elections, as only then can we maintain the vibrancy of democracy,” Verma added, highlighting the significance of casting a ballot.

He urged young people to vote, particularly those who were first-time voters. He said that young people were the nation’s future and that it was crucial that they take part in the political process.

Verma took an oath from the attendees, promising that they would vote. To emphasize the importance of voting, the Information and Public Relations Department’s artists put on a little play. Also taking part in the initiative were locals, particularly women. To raise voter awareness, the Mahila Mandal, CLF Srishti Development Block, Kotkhai, also put on a little play.

First-time voters were informed about the procedures to be followed at the voting station and a presentation was given at the women’s polling station.

According to Kishore Jodhata, the SVEEP Nodal Officer, the Jubbal-Kotkhai Assembly seat is hosting a number of voter awareness programs as part of the SVEEP campaign. There was also a competition to write and paint slogans.
