Training aircraft crashes near a village in Pune, injuring two people; second incident in four days

A student pilot and an instructor were on board when a training plane from a private aviation school crashed on Sunday morning in a hamlet in Maharashtra’s Pune region, according to the police.

At about 8 am, they reported that an airplane had crashed close to Gojubavi hamlet in the Baramati taluka.

“A training aircraft from the Redbird Flight Training Academy crashed close to the settlement of Gojubavi. Both a student pilot and an instructor were hurt in the collision. Both have been taken urgently to a nearby hospital, according to senior inspector Prabhakar More of the Baramati police station.

“The crash’s origin is still unknown. We are looking into the matter,” he said.

The private aviation academy’s planes had been involved in two similar incidents in the last four days.

According to the police, a pilot was hurt on Thursday night when a training plane from the school crashed close to Kaftal hamlet in the Baramati taluka.
