Two people detained with prohibited handguns

Two people have been taken into custody by the Gharinda police for unlawful gun possession. Two.30 caliber handguns and two cell phones were found by the authorities.

The people that were taken into custody were Gurmit Singh and Harmanpreet Singh, also known as Sukha, who lived in Mandarsera village in the Ferozepur district. Kulwinder Singh, their third accomplice, had not yet been taken into custody.

The police claimed to have received information about two young people from Attari heading toward Khasa side with illegal firearms in their backpack. After receiving a tip, a naka was placed next to Khasa Bridge, and two young people were found in possession of a bag. During the search, the police took two.30 caliber handguns, two magazines, and two cell phones from the young people.

The accused were unable to present any weapons-related documentation. Kulwinder had sent them to carry these firearms, according to the suspects. According to SSP Satinder Singh, a complaint was filed under the Arms Act against the pair, and more research was being done to determine their forward and backward connections.
