UP: Mother kills her daughter after objecting to their relationship and being arrested
According to authorities on Monday, a lady was detained here for reportedly killing her young daughter by hacking her because the girl didn’t like her connection with a male.
Shivpati filed a complaint at the Manjhanpur police station in Kaushambi, claiming her daughter had been abducted, after reportedly murdering her 15-year-old daughter with an axe and disposing of her corpse in a well with the assistance of other family members, according to SP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava.
On October 14, Shivpati informed the police that her daughter had left the house on October 2 to work in the fields and had not returned. The SP said that an investigation was started and a case of abduction against unidentified individuals was filed in response to her allegation.
The police were notified by locals on October 26 that they had discovered a girl’s corpse in a field outside of Tejvapur hamlet, in a well. After Shivpati determined that the corpse belonged to her daughter, the Indian Penal Code’s Section 302 (penalty for murder) was added to the case, according to the police. Shivpati was detained on Monday for the murder after it was determined by definite evidence that she was the main suspect; her other little daughter was also taken into custody. They said that attempts are on to apprehend her daughter-in-law Meera, who is evading capture.
According to Shivpati’s information, the axe and stick used in the murder have been found, the SP said. The bag that was used to conceal the corpse has also been found, the police said.
According to Srivastava, the accused informed the police that she had begged her daughter not to go out with a male from the same village, but the daughter had refused.
Shivpati said that she, her other daughter, and Meera murdered the deceased on October 2 at midnight by striking her with an axe and a stick. The SP said that after the murder, they placed the corpse in a jute bag and disposed of it in a well that was in a field outside of their hamlet.
He also said that the accused filed a kidnapping case in order to allay suspicions from the public and the police.
