Work toward empowering women and underrepresented groups, urges Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit

Today, Governor Banwarilal Purohit called on everyone to step up and contribute to the advancement and education of women and underprivileged groups in society. He was in this border area to witness Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s PM-SURAJ webpage launch event.

Speaking to the assembly, the governor said that 510 districts nationwide that were SC and BC recipients had been included to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment’s loan program.

He stated that more than one lakh qualified beneficiaries and aspiring company owners have been approved for loans under this initiative, which would enable them to launch their own ventures at affordable interest rates ranging from 3.5% to 9%. He noted that Ayushman Cards were also being given out to sanitation personnel nationwide as part of this scheme. Sanction letters and e-kits were also given out in honor of the event.
