Youth Parliament Virtually Convened in Una

A district-level youth parliament was held today for the youth of the districts of Una and Bilaspur by the Nehru Yuva Kendra.

In a declamation competition, twenty-one young people from the two districts competed on a theme of their choosing from three that the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports had selected.

The three themes were “From Atmanirbhar to Viksit Bharat: Charting India’s Growth Trajectory Driven by Youth,” “Empowering the Future”: Youth-led initiatives paving the way for a responsible community, and “Making India a Global Leader”: The role of young entrepreneurs in making India an economic power. It was up to the participants whether they spoke in Hindi or English.

The National Informatics Center at the District Secretariat building served as the virtual venue for the event.

According to Prabhat Kumar, joint director of NYK Sangathan, the young were given several platforms by both NYK and the Union Ministry of Young Services and Sports to share their innovative views and opinions with the community.

According to Lal Singh, Deputy Director of Una NYK, the declamation competition was a component of the 2024 National Youth Parliament Festival. Six districts in the state hosted district-level competitions, where young people from two different districts competed in one event.

The two winners from each district, according to Lal Singh, will compete in the state Youth Parliament competition later this month. The three state champions will take part in the National Youth Parliament the following month.
