Block, district, and state-level competitions will take place around the state, beginning on February 28 and running through March 9.

In order to strengthen the state’s position as a sports center, the authorities say that the CM Cup seeks to identify unique athletic tastes and skills in each district. It is expected to draw ten lakh athletes from 22 districts, 143 blocks, and 6,841 villages.

This cup will include six sports: basketball, volleyball, handball, kho-kho, football, and national kabaddi. According to Sudha Bhasin, the District Sports Officer (DSO) of Karnal, the winner will get a monetary award of Rs 2 lakh, while the first runners-up will receive Rs 1.5 lakh and the second runners-up, Rs 1 lakh. She noted that the athletes competing at the block and district levels will also get certificates of merit. “We are organizing this cup for the first time in the state to showcase talent from all around the state,” she said.

Deputy Commissioner Anish Yadav described it as a department-wide effort to identify and develop athletic potential. As on February 27 at 6 p.m., aspiring athletes may register on the department’s website, haryanasports.gov.in/cm-cup-2024.
