Gill forgoes training as Sarfaraz and Jurel prepare for their debuts

A strike that causes injuries On a pitch that will be quite similar to the previous two Test matches, India may start the third Test against England with two debutants in the form of hard-hitting keeper-batter Dhruv Chand Jurel and local run machine Sarfaraz Khan.

Shubman Gill, the centurion from the previous game, did not show up for Tuesday’s optional workout, however. It should be mentioned that Gill sustained an injury to his right index finger during the second Test in Visakhapatnam while fielding. He said that the injury is not too significant after declining to field during England’s second innings.

Sarfaraz, one of the most successful players in the Ranji Trophy, now has more opportunities since Shreyas Iyer was dropped and KL Rahul is still recovering.

When it comes to Jurel, his better batting ability may be the deciding factor against Kona Bharat, who has lost seven straight Test matches without recording a single half-century.
