I Need to Reflect on What Went Wrong and Concentrate on Upcoming Competitions: R Praggnanandhaa

R. Praggnanandhaa, who just made his debut at the FIDE Candidates, is now competing at the Rapid and Blitz competition in Poland.

Speaking of his stay in Canada, he said, “It was a great experience.” It’s a major competition with a lot of strain. I performed better on the field than I did on the scoreboard. I have to reflect on what went wrong and concentrate on competing in future events.

This was the first of the Grandmaster’s busy schedule, which began with his first Grand Chess Tour. “The Rapid and Blitz competition in Poland in May marks the beginning of the Grand Chess Tour. Next, from June 24 to July 6, there is the Superbet Romania classical event. The Sinquefield Cup is a traditional competition that will take place after the Saint Louis Rapid and Blitz in August.

It is evident that people are excited and ready to compete at the top levels. I am thrilled to be taking part in this for the first time. In addition, I’ll be competing in the Real Masters in Switzerland and the Norway Chess in May,” the 18-year-old said.

According to Praggnanandhaa, he can only succeed in his quest if he has a solid support network. This is due to the fact that being the greatest doesn’t come easily. He and his family were pleased that the Adani Group had turned into a stronghold.

“The Adani Group is incredible. Chess training may seem simple and inexpensive, but because of all the travel and equipment needed, it’s a very costly sport. For this reason, I am appreciative of the help. Training camps are quite expensive. We don’t have to worry about it too much now that the Adani Group is involved, so I can concentrate on playing chess,” he said.

It could have been difficult to compete in elite international competitions without the Adani Group since they can be quite costly. Prior to having my first sponsor, my parents were having financial troubles. My sister was traveling and performing as well, so it was challenging. Praggnanandhaa expressed gratitude and remarked, “This is why corporate sponsors like the Adani Group are essential for sports.”

It’s difficult for an adolescent to keep up with the demands of playing chess at the top levels. As he gets ready for a three-month tour and competition, Praggnanandhaa shares a glimpse of his performance-enhancing physical and mental routine.

“Technical preparation is the first of many factors that go into large tournament readiness. He said, “You have to have opening concepts available and your mind prepared to compute and perform effectively.

However, Praggnanandhaa said that he does various activities to keep his body and mind active, in addition to chess. “I was playing physical sports as a means of getting ready for candidates.” During the camps, I was exercising as well. In addition to the actual chess instruction, we are allotted a certain amount of time for physical training. I’m a huge badminton fan. I’ve only recently taken up beach volleyball. I had a great time with it.

“Playing 14 games is not easy, so you need to be ready for long tournaments,” he said. One thing we are focusing on is maintaining attention throughout. 14 games also wear you out. When you play a game for five or six hours, the physical component becomes apparent. It’s evident that it takes a lot of energy to focus if you do it the whole tournament.
