“I wasn’t fit,” Kuldeep Yadav, who made a comeback, said of the individual who helped him get ready for the match

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Capitals defeated the Lucknow Super Giants by six wickets on Friday at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Australian batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk had a memorable IPL debut with an aggressive half-century, while spinner Kuldeep Yadav excelled with the ball.

After missing three games due to a groyne injury, Kuldeep returned to the team and took three wickets at a cost of only 20 runs in his four overs. He also managed to hold the opposing batters at bay without giving up any boundaries.

After the victory, Kuldeep gave credit to Patrick Farhart, the team’s physiotherapist, for helping him stay healthy.
It was difficult for me to be unfit. It was tough to see the squad struggle in the middle overs after being hurt in the first game. “I owe a debt of gratitude to Patrick Farhart for keeping me fit and getting me ready so quickly,” Kuldeep said after the game.
The introduction of Kuldeep in the eighth over proved to be crucial for the Delhi Capitals, as it caused the Lucknow Super Giants to collapse at the batting end.
The left-arm spinner started the collapse with a ball that was well-stricken, forcing Marcus Stoinis to try a powerful stroke that was easily caught by Ishant Sharma at backward point.
Subsequently, Kuldeep left the more proficient Nicholas Pooran absolutely perplexed as the ball destroyed the off stump.
Kuldeep took his third wicket in eight balls with an incredible show of brilliance, removing KL Rahul, the captain of LSG, and severely hurting their batting order.
“All three of those wickets were significant; managing the run rate required taking wickets in the middle overs. I have played a lot against Pooran, and I thought the first and second wickets were well executed. As a spinner, length alone counts; therefore, I was clear about my goals,” Kuldeep said.
“I am very certain and assured about my abilities. I try to press for DRS if I believe it is 50/50, but when it is more 60/40, I usually listen to Rishabh. Naturally, if you’re a bowler, you want to take the DRS whenever you can. We have two reviews, so one is definitely for me (laughs),” he said.
