India vs England, Fifth Test: Experienced off-spinner Ashwin becomes the 14th player to represent India in 100 Tests

“The closest thing to lifelike synergy is test cricket.” During his statement of thanks after his special 100th Test hat from India head coach Rahul Dravid here on Thursday, Ravichandran Ashwin’s voice quivered with passion and pride.

However, Ashwin did not keep that historic moment—which occurred during the fifth and final Test match against England—to himself; instead, he promoted Test cricket in the middle of the lucrative T20 leagues.

Many young people want to play T20 and make it into the IPL since it has been such a well-liked competition. I really hope they make it there. However, keep in mind that this format (Test) It is in many things that you wouldn’t learn from life, according to Ashwin.

“Life is like a test match, in my opinion. It is the closest thing to life in terms of harmony. It will educate you how to adjust and handle pressure.

The 37-year-old Ashwin, who debuted in Test cricket in 2011, also lavishly thanked his father, Vivichandran, for having faith in him and encouraging him on his path.

It’s a really sentimental time. Not only for me alone. Emotions don’t really shake me up that much. But for a guy sitting back in Chennai, this is a very emotional day. Sadly, he was unable to attend. Ashwin started, then quickly reminisced about the early days.

I can still vividly recall my first day playing cricket as a child: I would place my gear in front of the gas tank, and dad would put me on the bike and transport me to the coaching camp.

“His father, a government official, aspired to take his kid far beyond what he thought he would ever achieve in life. My mom and, of course, my grandfather helped him get me here,” he said.

Preeti, his wife, has been a major source of support for him throughout difficult times.

“My spouse had no idea what she was getting herself into. She is standing next to me today because she has been involved in it. Ashwin said, “I have two beautiful children who are also appreciating my adventure over the previous several years.

Dravid remarked that Ashwin’s moment was well-earned for the Tamil Nadu player after giving him the cap.

“This is your 100th test, and you have faithfully given the team everything you have.” It was a voyage that began in Chennai’s streets. It has been a protracted and exciting trip. Without your family, it would not have been feasible. They also deserve congratulations.

This is a moment that is well-earned. It’s been a pleasure talking to you. Working as a coach with you has been an honor. And of course, it’s an honor to give you this hat,” Dravid said to cheers from Ashwin’s teammates, who presented him with a guard of honor as he took the field.
