Irfan Pathan discusses India’s team selection for the T20 World Cup 2024
The 15-man Indian cricket team roster for the 2024 T20 World Cup has not yet been revealed. Prior to the international showcase, Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, had already said that Rohit Sharma would be leading the “Men in Blue.”.

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan shared his thoughts on choosing the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024, as the players have been showcasing their amazing talents in the present IPL 2024.
Pathan said after Indian players’ IPL 2024 performances, “Just because certain players are doing well in the IPL, doesn’t mean they should be picked automatically. Because of the short venues and flat fields in the IPL, there are always one or two uncapped bowlers who are easily smacked.”
Pathan also shared his opinions on the state of international cricket. But cricket on the international stage is a whole different animal. There will be five bowlers on your team, all of whom have a ton of experience and played in a lot of matches prior to the World Cup. Mitchell Starc and other elite bowlers will be your opponents. You’ll still be playing against elite bowlers, even if Starc’s IPL performance may not be the same.”
After the debate over whether to choose the young players for the World Cup, Pathan said, “Let’s go back to 2007.” The idea that India’s youthful squad won the World Cup is untrue. No, manager, we were seasoned. Six years have passed since Harbhajan Singh’s training. Seven years of experience Virender Sehwag had. Yuvraj Singh has been in the industry for five or six years. Four years of experience was mine. When Mahendra Singh Dhoni made his debut in 2004, he had four or five years of experience.”
