Paris quota is secured with Maheshwari’s silver

Shooter Maheshwari Chauhan won silver in the women’s skeet event on the last day of the ISSF last Olympic Qualification Championship Shotgun in Doha on Sunday, securing India’s 21st quota spot for the Olympics in Paris.

In a shoot-off for gold, Maheshwari, who was playing in her first ISSF Final, fell 3-4 to Francisca Crovetto Chadid of Chile after the two matched at 54 hits in the 60-shot final. In the women’s skeet, it is India’s second Paris quota spot. “I’m ecstatic. To get here, a great deal of effort has been put in throughout the years. After the match, Maheshwari said, “I am a little disappointed about the shoot-off, but overall, it has been very satisfying.”
