T20 World Cup 2024: New Zealand name Squad for T20 WC, Kane Williamson named Captain as Two Kids Announce Squad

On Monday, April 29, New Zealand announced their 15-man team for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The competition, which begins on June 1st in the USA and the West Indies, will be captained by Kane Williamson of New Zealand.

With Trent Boult and Tim Southee, two of the world’s best fast bowlers, leading an experienced team, New Zealand will be expecting a big showing. The team is the first to announce its 15-person roster for the T20 World Cup, which is in its ninth year.

A key figure for New Zealand in the next ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is Glenn Phillips. The squad also includes Devon Conway, who was injured and missed the IPL 2024.

On June 7, the Kiwis’ trip will begin in Guyana against Afghanistan. They will play in Group C and will have to contend with opposition from Uganda, Papua New Guinea, and the co-hosts, the West Indies.

Michael Bracewell, who recently captained the Black Caps against Pakistan, is included in the World Cup squad. Throughout the competition, Ben Sears will travel with the squad as a reserve.

One player to keep an eye on during the competition is rising talent Finn Allen. His determination and opening game strategies could be very helpful to New Zealand’s 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup campaign.

For the Black Caps, who have never before won a World Cup, it will be difficult. The Australians will be hoping to surprise everyone with their well-rounded team.
