To inspect the World Cup venues assigned to them, Pakistan will send a security delegation to India

The 2023 ODI World Cup itinerary was announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) earlier in the week. The tournament is set to start on October 5 in Ahmedabad.

Pakistan will play India on October 15 at the same location, as planned. Other locations selected for Pakistan’s matches are Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.

A source close to the Inter-Provincial Coordination (Sports) Ministry stated that while the exact time the nation would send a delegation is unknown, it will happen after the new head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is chosen.

The source said that the security delegation will go with a PCB representative to check the World Cup grounds where Pakistan would play as well as the security and other preparations made for them.

“The delegation will interact with the officials there and discuss and inspect with them the security and other arrangements for our players, officials, fans, and media, who will go for the tournament,” the source said.

The insider also informed us that Pakistan had dispatched a delegation before to its arrival in India for the 2016 T20 World Cup.

If the delegation raised any issues, the PCB will subsequently share a report with the ICC and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
