24 security guards were found guilty by the Rampur Court of giving weapons to terrorists and naxals in Uttar Pradesh

24 security officials, including two from the CRPF, were given ten years in jail by a local Rampur court for providing weapons and ammunition to criminals, Naxalites, and terrorists in 2010. The Special Judge (EC Act) Vijay Kumar found them guilty on Thursday and handed down the verdict on Friday, according to the news agency PTI. A fine of Rs. 10,000 has been imposed on each of them.

Yashodanand, a former sub-inspector of the UP Police in Allahabad (Prayagraj), was the primary defendant and had passed away during the trial, according to Additional District Government Counsel Pratap Singh Maurya, who spoke to PTI on Saturday. Vinod Paswan and Vinesh Kumar, both havaldars in the Central Reserve Police Force, are among the prisoners. The other convicts were Nathiram, a constable who was posted at Police Training College, Moradabad, and constables Ram Kishan Shukla, Ramkripal, Sushil Kumar Mishra, Jitendra Kumar Singh, Rajesh Shahi, Amar Singh, Vansh Lal, Akhilesh Kumar Pandey, Amresh Mishra, Rajesh Kumar, Manish Rai, Vinod Kumar Singh, Om Prakash Singh, Rajya Pal Singh, Loknath, Banwari Lal, Akash, and Dileep Rai.

The three civilians Dileep Rai, Akash, and Muralidhar Sharma are also among the prisoners, according to the ADPG. The UP Police and Provincial Armed Constabulary employed 14 of the accused. He said that all 24 were free on bond, had been detained by the court for the judgment, and had been returned to prison following it.

Maurya claims that on April 10, the UP STF detained two CRPF hawaldars close to Jawala Nagar, which is located in the Civil Lines Police Station area of the district, and found an INSAS weapon, ammunition, and some cash on them. Yashodanand, who had Rs 1.75 lakh in his hands, Nathiram, and a few armourers—officials in charge of the weapons—of the UP Police and PAC stationed in different districts, including Basti, Gonda, and Varanasi—were all detained by the STP.

Yashodanand, Vinod Paswan, and Vinesh Kumar were legally detained after STF filed a complaint in this subject. PTC Moradabad detained Nathiram, and a complaint was filed in Moradabad against him.
