Exam for UP Police Constables 2024: Paper leak rumors debunked, 287 arrests made

UP Police Paper Leak 2024: Reports of a paper leak pertaining to the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination that have been making the rounds on social media have been sharply refuted by the state’s officials. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) reassured the public that the test went off without a hitch, despite the unsubstantiated reports.
Via its official social media accounts, the UPPBPB disputed the false information and asked people to refrain from disseminating false information.

The board reaffirmed its commitment to conducting the examination with honesty and openness in a message uploaded on the UP Police Fact Check account.
According to DGP Prashant Kumar, the test was carried out at all 2385 state centers in a calm and orderly manner on both days and over all four shifts. Senior law enforcement and administrative personnel visited every area on a regular basis. On that day, almost 48 million hopefuls showed up for the test.

On the last day of the written test that the UPPBPB was conducting to choose 60244 constables, there was a major crackdown. To preserve the integrity of the test, 93 people were taken into custody on Sunday alone. A coordinated operation by the STF and district police to stop cheating has resulted in 287 arrests since February 15. The targets of the campaign include examinees, solvers, members of solver gangs, and those suspected of paper leaks.

Nine people were taken into custody by the police on Sunday in the Firozabad neighborhood of the Shikohabad police station. Three Prayagraj residents and three Ballia residents were taken into custody by the Special Task Force (STF). 41 people were arrested in Purvanchal; the majority of them were connected to gangs that leaked papers or took exams in place of exams. A total of sixteen people were arrested in Ballia, seventeen in Ghazipur, six in Mau, and two in Varanasi, among other locations. There were 41 arrests on Saturday in Purvanchal.

On Sunday, police in Chitrakoot and Kanpur detained one solver apiece. Two candidates and three solvers were taken into custody in the Gorakhpur-Basti division on the same day. Two solvers, one from the Bihar region of Munger and the other a female from Sant Kabirnagar posing as her sister, were discovered in Sant Kabir Nagar substituting for others. Similarly, at Siddharthnagar, at Siddharth College, Birdpur, a solver from Bihar was seen standing in for a candidate from Deoria during the first shift.
The Etah Police detained 15 people on Saturday, according to a report from the Uttar Pradesh Police, who were involved in a scheme to rig the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Examination. Authorities found 64 mark sheets, 30 caste certificates, 30 domicile certificates, 23 admission cards, and Rs 2 lakh cash on them after they were arrested.

Fifteen people have been arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police on suspicion of being involved in the leak of the UP Police Constable 2024 question papers. According to Superintendent of Police Dhananjay Kushwaha, the arrests were made in an attempt to stop unfair methods from being used in the constable recruiting process. The suspects are being questioned right now. These arrests were made in a number of places, including Jhansi, Ghazipur, and Mau, and were made possible in large part by the Kotwali police station’s surveillance unit, according to authorities.
