Lucknow Vegetarian Family “Served Chilli Chicken Instead of Chilli Paneer,” Food App, Restaurant Reserved

A family’s complaint that they received “chilli chicken” rather than “chilli paneer” in their order led to the booking of the delivery representative of a well-known food delivery service and the proprietor of a Chinese restaurant in Lucknow this week. Rakesh Kumar Shastri, who identified himself as being ‘affiliated’ with the nearby Lord Balaji Temple, stated in his complaint that his family unintentionally ate the food and that they had been “feeling uneasy” ever since.

According to reports, the event happened on October 9 when Shastri and his family placed a dinner order using a well-known app from a Chinese restaurant in Alambagh.

“I ordered dry chilli paneer from a Chinese eatery in Lucknow’s Alambagh neighborhood. However, the restaurant and delivery guy Imran gave me a non-vegetarian meal, which I and my family didn’t realize until after eating, according to the FIR.

Shastri said that his family’s health had been harmed as well as his religious feelings. Netizens responded angrily to a social media post that detailed the occurrence. Shastri accused the eatery of betraying his confidence in a 1.05-minute video.

According to the pertinent provisions, police have filed a FIR against the delivery driver and the restaurant owner.

Chhatrapal Kumar, station house officer (SHO), Police Station Ashiyana, Lucknow, said that “an FIR was registered under pertinent sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the matter is under investigation.”
