UP: Meerut Rape Victim Tries to Set Herself on Fire and Demands Accused Be Arrested

On Saturday, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, during a grievance redressal session, a rape victim tried to set herself on fire.

The lady brought combustible materials to the “Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas” in Sardhana along with her family. SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan said that they requested the accused in the rape case be taken into custody.

Sajwan said that the family’s combustible materials were taken away by the police, who also promised to take legal action against the offenders.

The event occurred while the lady was a juvenile, some six months ago, according to Sarurpur police authorities. She had filed a rape lawsuit against a young person in her community after the occurrence.

Additionally, the SSP said that a complaint had already been filed about the issue. The accused, however, was discovered to have been in Punjab at the time and not in the region throughout the inquiry.

SDM Pankaj Prakash Rathore said that the Sarurpur police personnel have been instructed to act immediately in this regard.

A 14-year-old boy was detained a few days ago in a hamlet in the Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh on suspicion of raping a four-year-old child.

According to Sankalp Sharma, Superintendent of Police in Deoria, the event occurred while the daughter was out grazing goats.

In the Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh, three men are accused of kidnapping and gang-raping a little girl who was riding in an auto to school last month. The victim’s father knew the accused, who had forced her to sit on their bike while she was riding in the car.

The girl, a class 11 student, was reportedly brought to a motel where she was allegedly gang-raped. The victim was warned by the accused, who had recorded the whole deed, that if she told anybody about it, the tape would be leaked.
