Man rents an Airbnb, only to discover that his bed is in the bathroom

A significant portion of trip preparation is choosing the perfect accommodation. Since Airbnb provides a range of lodging options, including homestays for vacation rentals and tourist activities, people are increasingly turning to it as a hotel replacement nowadays. Additionally, visitors anticipate that their vacation property will look just like the internet photos. Of course, they also want them to be clean, welcoming, and just as listed.

David Holtz, an assistant professor at the University of California, regrettably couldn’t concur. When he realized his London Airbnb accommodation was little more than a bed put into a bathroom, he was shocked. The only piece of furniture in the room was the bed, which was barely a few inches from the open-air toilet seat.

Holtz took to Twitter to share his experience because he was so angered by his living circumstances. His tweet went viral right away, and shocked individuals from all around the globe responded. Holtz posted images of his Airbnb and commented on Twitter, “Tfw [that feeling] when you arrive at your @airbnb and realize that the whole space is basically just a large-ish bathroom that the host put a bed into.”

According to the pictures, the Airbnb is a simple bathroom with a bed next to the toilet. Holtz continued by saying that while there were “no reviews at the time” he made the reservation, the listing now seems to have a handful. He said that it was in London but did not provide a link to the ad.

More than 13 million people saw the tweet, which led Airbnb’s official help account to respond. In order to advance their investigation, the company also requested the man’s email address from his Airbnb account.

On the other side, Holtz’s reaction to Airbnb brought to light the depressing reality of the business’s customer service. He expressed his shock by complaining that customer assistance at Airbnb “had no interest in helping resolve the issue.”

Several people on social media responded to Holtz’s tweet with amusing comments. The only reason Airbnb helps in situations like these, according to one customer, is to maintain their good reputation. Another person told the lecturer, “to close the toilet seat for your nightstand functionalities.” Third person who left a remark on his article referred to it as “The original RestRoom.”

This isn’t the first time, however, that travelers have had a terrible Airbnb experience. A lady claimed to have discovered a concealed camera in the bedroom of her leased residence last month.
