Dinesh Khara, the chairman of SBI, is likely to get a 10-month contract extension

According to a report citing sources, SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara’s term would likely be extended by another 10 months. His present contract is set to expire in October, but if it is extended, he might continue to lead India’s biggest state-owned bank for another nine months.

On October 7, 2020, Dinesh Khara was appointed chairman of SBI. And he will be 63 in August of next year. The chairman is required under SBI regulations to retire at the age of 63.

Ashwini Kumar Tewari, the SBI MD, would also have his term extended, the article said. In January 2024, his current term is scheduled to expire.
