International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) and Mayfair Hotels & Resorts Sign a Memorandum of Understanding to Establish a Strategic Partnership

May 8, Siliguri (West Bengal) [India]: Today at IIHM’s upcoming campus in Siliguri, West Bengal, the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) and Mayfair Hotels and Resorts signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a significant effort to improve the hospitality sector as well as the quality of hospitality education in India. The main goals and clauses of the Memorandum of Understanding are as follows:

* Context: By fostering long-term cooperation in higher education, the alliance seeks to improve the educational experience of students studying hospitality management. It aims to produce highly employable graduates with degrees in hotel, hospitality, and tourism management as well as holders of THSC-validated diplomas and certificates in tourism and hospitality skills.

* Mayfair’s Role and Responsibilities: Mayfair Hotels and Resorts will contribute significantly to IIHM in the areas of curriculum development, student placement, industrial training, guest lectures, faculty development programs, and operational understanding.

* IIHM’s Role and Responsibilities: In accordance with legal requirements, IIHM shall supervise the selection of students, provide designated classrooms, and run courses that include industrial training and examinations.

* Roles and Responsibilities of Students: Students are expected to participate in all curriculum-related events, accept internships and placements in hotels owned by Mayfair, and preserve the good name of Mayfair and IIHM.

* Program Management and Quality Assurance: Both parties will designate representatives to oversee the execution of the Memorandum of Understanding, and Mayfair will provide materials for classes designated to it.

* Student Placement in India: Subject to their final selection by Mayfair-managed hotels, Mayfair-managed hotels will hire the IIHM students admitted under this MoU for entry-level positions in Mayfair’s hotels in India.
