Tata Tiago Sales Reach 500,000

On Thursday, Tata Motors said that its hatchback Tiago has sold 5 lakh units, despite the domestic market’s entry-level category seeing declining sales.

The model’s most recent one lakh unit sales milestone was reached within a 15-month period, showing growing consumer interest in it for dynamic and comfortable driving, the automaker stated in a statement. The Tiago line offers a variety of powertrain choices, including electric, CNG, and gasoline. The Tiago NRG also has off-roading capabilities and an SUV-inspired look, and it’s offered in both petrol and CNG versions.

According to Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Head of Marketing Vinay Pant, “one of the key factors influencing Tiago’s growth has been the availability of various powertrain options for customers where they can choose between petrol, CNG, and electric engines.”

According to Q1 FY24, the Tiago family’s product mix consists of 46% gasoline variations, 42% electric cars (EVs), and 13% variants that run on compressed natural gas (CNG).

among 71% of clients buying their first vehicle in FY23, Pant remarked that the model has grown in popularity among first-time car purchasers.

Additionally, 60% of Tiago’s sales originate from urban regions, with the remaining 40% coming from rural markets, demonstrating the company’s wide appeal to a variety of client categories, he said.
