The price of sugarcane has increased by Rs 10 to Rs 315 per quintal for the season 2023–24

The Fair and Remunerative amount (FRP), the minimum amount mills must pay sugarcane producers for the 2023–24 season beginning in October, was raised by the government on Wednesday by Rs 10 to Rs 315 per quintal.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, decided to raise the FRP of sugarcane.

For the 2023–24 growing season, the FRP for sugarcane has been set at Rs 315 per quintal.

The FRP for sugarcane has been raised by the Cabinet to Rs 315 per quintal for 2023–24. Anurag Thakur, the minister of information and broadcasting, informed reporters after the cabinet meeting that the FRP of sugarcane last year was Rs 305 a quintal.

The Prime Minister has been with “annadata” from the beginning. According to him, the administration has prioritized farmers and agriculture.

He stated that the sugarcane FRP, which was Rs 210 per quintal during the 2014–15 season, has now been raised to Rs 315 per quintal for the 2023–24 season.
