Adah Sharma, the lead author of The Kerala Story, disputes the assertion that there are no OTT buyers, saying that “web release requires careful consideration”

The Kerala Story, a movie by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, has garnered media attention ever since it opened in theaters. It centers on the purported conversion to Islam and trafficking of Hindu women from Kerala to ISIS and other Islamic battle zones in 2018–2019. It seeks to shed light on the circumstances behind the disappearance of 32,000 women in Kerala who are believed to have been radicalized and sent on terror missions across India and the rest of the globe. The creators are having trouble finding a customer for its OTT distribution even after it has been released. Adah Sharma, the star, is certain that the movie will find an audience.

We’ve finished 50 days on the big screen; I’m confident OTT par bhi jaldi aa hi jayegi, she said, adding that “it’s a huge celebration not only for the cast and makers, but for the entire industry.”

The actress disputes accusations that the movie was made available for streaming on June 23. They are presently debating which OTT platform to put the movie on since, according to her, a movie can only be distributed on OTT once it has finished its theatrical run. “From what I understand and from what the production team has informed me, they are considering which OTT platform they will distribute the movie on. Since it performed very well in theaters, the option to distribute it online must also be carefully considered, she said.

Director Sudipto Sen recently said that they are still searching for a fair and feasible contract with one of the big OTT platforms in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. “We are still waiting for one of the major OTT platforms to provide a decent, viable contract. But as of yet, we haven’t received any offers that are worthwhile. It appears the movie business has banded together to punish us,” he added, adding that he thinks the movie’s box office success has angered certain movie business groups. We believe that a segment of the entertainment business has banded together to retaliate against us for our success, he added.
