Amit Sial about his experience on the Yellow Bus shoot as an all-female crew member: Seeing them produce a picture with such complexity was enjoyable

Amit Sial is back with a new movie, Yellow Bus, an emotional family drama. He made waves with his portrayals of a multifaceted protagonist in the online series Kathmandu Connection and a Pakistani adversary in Commando. The antagonist’s existence is fascinating since he is limitless in his abilities. The hues on those characters are amazing. However, I have no preference among my characters since I am an actor and I want to play a range of parts,” he declares.

Amit portrays the father of a student who perishes in a terrible tragedy in Yellow Bus. The trailer covers what occurs when a couple loses a kid and does a good job of illustrating the severity of the storm that strikes him and his wife. The actress claims, “It depicts what you cannot see from the outside, how the surviving family members deal with moving past the grief.”

Shooting experience with the Yellow Bus

As Amit’s first trip to the Gulf, Yellow Bus proved to be not simply a different movie for him, but also a fresh, enlightening experience. Production companies from India, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States collaborated to shoot the movie in Abu Dhabi (the exact site is unknown). It debuted internationally at the most recent Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2023.

Speaking candidly about the film’s Abu Dhabi filming, Amit said, “It’s clear that shooting overseas offers a unique experience. Everything about it was new to me, so it was very interesting. It was pleasant to converse with them, get to know them better, and experience their diverse cultures since some of them were from Tunisia, Egypt, and Lebanon.

With the exception of writer-director Wendy Bednarz and producer Guneet Monga, who are both women, Amit verified that the team was mostly composed of women. Watching almost an all-female crew work together to create such a well-researched, in-depth movie with a significant time and financial commitment was a very rewarding experience. Demonstrating to the public that both sexes are equal and capable of everything they set their minds to is crucial. He states, “A woman can work outside the home, and a man can do household chores.”

It was difficult, according to Amit, to give the writing justice, despite how exquisite and intricate it was. The most difficult task is usually to portray the persona that an actor has accepted as their own. I believe I’ve completed it to a good degree. This movie is very sentimental. The 35–40 of us who made up the film team shared housing and meals together. We virtually grew to be a family, and it comes across on film,” he claims.

Amit Sial in front of the lens

Amit’s real-life spouse, a former actress, claims to have encouraged him in all of his endeavors when they first began dating. He grinned, “It was always a good help because she knew everything about the profession.”

Although Amit is originally from Kanpur, he went to college in Delhi before relocating to Australia to further his education. He migrated to Mumbai eighteen years ago after receiving an opportunity from there and working as a takeout worker in Delhi. “I’ve finally made the decision to pursue my happiness. Although I lived hand to mouth, I was never concerned about when I would get my next food,” he ends.
