Emergency: Kangana Ranaut confirms the release date and says she will reveal the narrative behind “India’s darkest hour.”

Actress Kangana Ranaut revealed the release date of her much awaited historical political drama “Emergency” on Tuesday, after her attendance at the Ram Mandir “Pran Pratishtha” event at the Ayodhya Ram shrine the day before.

Kangana announced the movie’s release date and posted a poster of herself on Instagram. She shared the poster and commented, “Discover the narrative of India’s darkest period.” Declaring a #Emergency for June 14, 2024. On June 14, 2024, see history come to life as the most formidable and fearsome Prime Minister in history, #IndiraGandhi, storms into theaters.

She is shown on the poster as the Late Prime Minister on a newspaper’s main page. “Emergency is my most ambitious project and second directorial post-Manikarnika, we have the best of Indian and international talent come together for this big budget, grand period drama,” Kangana Ranaut remarked in regards to the movie.

On Monday, Kangana was present at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha function. Kangana posted a video of herself on X, where she can be heard yelling “Jai Shri Ram.” The post was titled “Ram aa gaye” by her.

Kangana appeared in the video sporting a red blouse and an ivory saree. Kangana wore a crimson shawl with her saree. She put her hair up in a ponytail and accessorized with a bold layered necklace.

Returning to “Emergency,” the movie portrays the most contentious event in Indian democracy’s history. At the center of this lies one of history’s most remarkable figures, Indira Gandhi, the first female prime minister of India, played by Kangana in the title role of the late politician.

“Emergency” is the first film that Kangana has directed by herself. Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik are all featured in “Emergency” in significant roles.

The storyline and dialogue for the Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films-produced movie were written and coordinated by Sanchit Balhara.
