‘Progressive films’ like OMG 2 are subject to censorship, according to Govind Namdev

OMG 2, starring Akshay Kumar, is doing very well at the box office thanks to excellent word-of-mouth and a compelling narrative. However, the film suffered a significant delay when the censor board voiced objections to Akshay Kumar’s depiction of Lord Shiva and the movie’s sexual education concept. As a consequence, the movie underwent 24 censor adjustments and was classified as having adult material. The film’s crew voiced their concerns, but in the end they agreed to the censor board’s demands. Actor Govind Namdev offers his opinion.

What is said by Govind Namdev?

A social media tweet by Oh My God 2 actor Govind Namdev is now going viral. Namdev condemns the censor board in this article for their lack of decency for a film that deals with a topic as important as adult education. Additionally, he denigrates Prabhas’ next movie Adipurush in the process, calling it repulsive.

Govind Namdev commented in a now-viral Facebook post, “OMG, O MY GOD has out finally with 24 Censor cuts n nonsensical A certificate has been granted by the censor stating that teens should not watch the film for whom it was produced. The actor went on to highlight the absurdity of releasing a movie like Adipurush while recommending so many cuts in another film, OMG 2.

The actor wrote, “Oh My God,” jaisi insightful aur forward-thinking film ko kaatne kootne mein kharch kar diya! Jo dimaag censor board ko Adipurush jaisi behuda film mein lagana chahiye tha! Waah.”

He said, “It will be a wise step if Censor rectify its mistake n give at least UA certificate to let a positive revolution set in for the betterment of our society’s teenagers upbringing.” He also urged the censor board to reflect on their conduct.

Govind Namdev shared his opinions on the film’s opening day, expressing his satisfaction with the film’s positive reception from the public. He said, “The resounding applause from theatergoers today serves as a significant endorsement of the film’s quality.”

For those who are unaware of the circumstances, OMG 2 had difficulties when the censor board made multiple changes to the picture in light of Akshay Kumar’s depiction of Lord Shiva and the movie’s focus on sexual education. Adipurush, on the other hand, obtained permission despite mediocre dialogues, igniting tremendous uproar throughout the country.
