Ram Charan, Jr. NTR’s Invitation to Join the Academy and SS Rajamouli’s Reaction

MM Keeravani, Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan, among others, have been included to the list of Oscars’ Academy members. The six “members of the RRR team” who were asked to join The Academy were all thanked by director SS Rajamouli on Twitter on Thursday.

Six members of the RRR crew have been invited as members for this year’s Academy Awards, and SS Rajamouli tweeted that he was “extremely proud” of them.

Extremely delighted that six members of our RRR team have been asked to participate at this year’s Academy Awards, he tweeted. Best wishes to Tarak (Jr. NTR), Charan (Ram Charan), Peddanna (MM Keeravaani), Sabu sir (Sabu Cyril), Senthil (KK Senthil Kumar), and Chandrabose garu (brother). Congratulations to the members of Indian cinema who were given invitations this year, as well.

With the exception of director SS Rajamouli, the entire RRR crew, including the actors, received invitations to join the Academy. The invitation was extended to principal actors Ram Charan and Jr. NTR as well as Oscar-winning music composer MM Keeravaani, casting director KK Senthil Kumar, music director Chandrabose, production designer Sabu Cyril, and music director Chandrabose.

While certain Team RRR members were invited by the Academy, other fans expressed dismay that the filmmaker’s name had been left off.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) invited around 398 well-known individuals from the global entertainment sectors to participate on the panel.

Along with team RRR, other filmmakers on the Academy’s 2023 list were Mani Ratnam, Karan Johar, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur of India’s official Oscars 2023 submission Chhello Show, and Shaunak Sen, director of the Oscar-nominated documentary All That Breathes.
