Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan discuss the demise of “Love Aaj Kal”: “I need more time to forgive myself.”

After her films Love Aaj Kal and Coolie No. performed poorly, Sara Ali Khan said that it took her a long time to bounce back from failures in her battle to overcome self-criticism.
The actress spoke out to India Today in a recent interview on her propensity to be critical of herself and the big effects that her flicks Coolie No. 1 and Love Aaj Kal’s box office flops had on her.

In interviews, the actress conveyed her appreciation for the kind reception she gets from other industry professionals as well as the respect the media has shown her. She acknowledged her followers’ forgiveness, but she also acknowledged that she was quite critical of her own work and that it often took her a long time to forgive herself.
It was very difficult for me to accept that “Love Aaj Kal” and “Coolie No. 1” were both flops. Overcoming such obstacles required a significant amount of time—years, in fact. Right now, I feel like I’m getting closer to the end and passing them by.

Speaking about her path, the actress said that while marketing her later works, such as “Atrangi Re,” “Gaslight,” and “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,” she started to overcome her obstacles. She acknowledged that her previous mistakes were behind her and emphasised that while she had learned from them, she had only just started to fully forgive herself. Sara said she thought she would be rewarded with ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’.
After that, she’ll feature in the much-awaited follow-up to Anurag Basu’s well-liked 2007 film “Life in a Metro.” “Metro… in Dino.” Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Anupam Kher, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Kay Kay Menon, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Neena Gupta are among the star-studded ensemble. September 13, 2024,, is the planned release date for the movie.
